"Regal Grüner Veltliner from the site of a historic Napoleonic battleground"
Zdenek’s vineyards are in the famous Hostěrádky-Rešov area, where Vin d’Austerlitz refers to the 1805 Napoleonic battle also known as the Battle of the Three Emperors. Zdenek works a day job as a train station master in a nearby town, and the rest of his time he is absorbed in cultivating 1.5ha of land organically, which also includes old some vines planted in 1953. Pure limestone soils really brings an intense and saline character to this Grüner Veltliner (as it does with his Rieslings and Chardonnay) which is also expressive and complex. This wine certainly does the historic battle justice.Type: White
