Tannat, Vinedo de los Vientos, Coastal Region, Uruguay
'Some are calling it the new Malbec'
The Tannat grape is being touted as the new Malbec because of its power, structure and complexity. Tannat wines in Uruguay, like this one at Vinedo de Los Vientos, translation is 'The Vineyard of the Winds', are bursting with black fruit, dying to be paired with a big steak and in addition are also super high in antioxidants, making this a healthier type of red wine. What we also love about this wine is that it's made by a windsurfer, imagine that, tending the vines and windsurfing, all in a day's work.
