Chilcomb Valley Classic Cuvée Brut is the first wine from the Chilcomb Valley label, created by the Fordyce family on the South Downs near Winchester, Hampshire.
Made from a blend of 55% Chardonnay, 34% Pinot Noir and 11% Pinot Meunier from the 2015 vintage and therefore benefitting from some lovely bottle age, there are only 1200 bottles of this initial cuvée produced.
Golden in colour with an abundance of fine bubbles, the wine has vibrant baked apple, creamy nougat and a little brioche on the nose, supported by fresh fruit representative of the vintage. With notes of soft lemon sherbet on the palate, and more green apples the wine has endless bright acidity, the signature characteristic of English sparkling wines. Refreshing and perfectly balanced, this wine has a delightful long toasty finish. ABV 12%.
