Bachelet-Monnot, Puligny Montrachet 2019, 6x75cl case
The Bachelet brothers Marc and Alexandre set up a 10-hectare estate in Burgundy in 2005 and from their first vintage, they've attracted enormous praise from critics worldwide.
Their estate includes superb vineyards in Maranges, Santenay and Puligny, plus a handful more they have enfermage (under their management). For this wine, they took grapes from four Puligny lieu-dits – Les Meix, Corvée des Vignes, Noyer Bret and Les Houlières. Each was fermented separately using wild yeasts, in barrel, 20% of those new, followed by a year's ageing in oak. No wonder there is so much length and layers of complexity in this wine, besides its laser-like focus and gunflint freshness. Decant early or cellar. Ideal with creamy sauced white meats or fish.
1 case of 6x75cl available.
